¹⁸ When Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, ¹⁹ saying, “Give me also this power, that whomever I lay hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”

²⁰ Peter said to him, “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could purchase the gift of God with money!
